A 33 year-old man from Collie was arrested last night and charged with aggravated burglary and assault.
It was alleged that he forced entry into a home and choked the female occupant in the presence of two children, aged; 9 and 4.
Police believe the altercation was in relation to drug debts, but was a case of mistaken identity as he had gone to the wrong address, and the woman who he had assaulted was an innocent party.
The man allegedly demanded money for drug debts whilst inside the premises.
He appeared in Bunbury Magistrate Court today to face the charges.
Police had requested that the man remained in custody.
