WA's Act-Belong-Commit campaign has got the attention of Denmark and will be carried out nationwide over a two-year trial.
This will be the first international application of the campaign and other countries have also shown an interest, including the US, England, Canada, Japan, Fiji, the Faroe Islands and Mongolia.
The WA Mental Health Commission provided Curtin University with more than $500,000 to apply the campaign over 2015-2016 and it will continue into next year.
Over the past eight years, the Federal Liberal Government has been contributing to the campaign's application.
Mental Health minister Andrea Mitchell said the government was proud to be involved.
"Independent evaluation of the program in WA has shown it to be effective and its adaption for use in Denmark, as well as further interest from a number of other countries, reinforces its value," Ms Mitchell said.
"The Liberal National Government continues to support the WA Act-Belong-Commit campaign, which encourages the community to build and maintain better mental health.
"We know that being active, having a sense of belonging and a sense of purpose in life all contribute to happiness and good mental health."
Health Minister John Day also said Healthway provided over $600,000 worth of funding in the 2016, and are to commit to just over $850,000 over the next year.
"Healthway has sponsored 80 projects worth more than $1.8 million to promote Act-Belong-Commit in WA," Mr Day said.
"Thanks to this State Government support, 75 per cent of West Australians are now aware of this important positive mental health message."
The Act-Belong-Commit campaign has over 210 partners Australia-wide.
Mental Health Week ends tomorrow, with Act-Belong Commit being the theme for this year.
