LAST Saturday, October 15, the Collie River Little Athletics Club held their first meeting for the season.
Twenty-three of the 34 registered athletes braved the cold wet weather to compete at the Collie grounds.
Members gave their all and managed to finish their events before the rain and hail came down.
To records were broken on the weekend, one by Under 7’s Charli Grau and U16’s Kayla Aitken.
New member Grau put in an amazing first run in the 100 metres, beating the old record of 18.76 seconds with a 18.22 second sprint.
Aitken made an impressive 9.02m throw in the shotput beating the old record of 8.95m.
We are looking forward to rewarding season of achieving personal bests and fun.
