Tigerair has grounded a number of its Bali flights, after changes in Indonesian flight regulation have left a number of passengers attempting to return to Perth stranded in Bali on Wednesday morning.
Flight TT24 was set to depart Denpasar at 1.30pm and arrive in Perth at 5.15pm, and the cancellation has consequently grounded up to 170 passengers.
Tigerair said the flight was cancelled following a decision by the Indonesian government to impose new administrative requirements on flights between Bali and Australia.
"Tigerair is working with the relevant Indonesian authorities to meet the new requirements and is hopeful of having flights up and running again as soon as possible," a spokesperson said.
Passengers who were set to arrive in Perth on Wednesday evening will be re-accommodated on an alternate carrier.
"Tomorrow's daily return Bali flights are under review and update will be made on this website. In the event of further cancellations, customers will be contacted proactively by Tigerair Australia."
The cancellations affected a number of flights around Australia, including flights departing Adelaide and Melbourne.
Customers booked to travel on Tigerair services to and from Bali today are advised not to go to the airport and that the airline will contact them directly with their options.
Tigerair faced a similar issue in early 2015, where flights were cancelled after Indonesia failed to grant regulatory approval for its overseas service.
Perth-bound passengers were forced to wait 15 hours after being directed through Sydney or Brisbane.
