A passenger on a Qantas flight from Port Hedland has been charged after allegedly grabbing and pushing a female crew member.
Police will allege the 46-year-old Queensland man became involved in an argument with a crew member, reportedly because his friend was being kicked off the flight for being intoxicated.
"At around 1.15pm, the man was boarding a flight departing Port Hedland International Airport when he became involved in a verbal altercation with airline staff," a police spokeswoman said.
"It will be alleged he grabbed a female staff member by the hand before pushing her into the wall of the galley area.
"The woman received bruising and soreness to her body."
The man is due to appear in South Hedland Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with assaults on members of crew of aircraft which carries a maximum penalty of 14 years imprisonment.
