Members from the Collie Art Group donated a handcrafted quilt to the Collie Riding Develops Abilities last week.
They created the personalised quilt to be displayed in the RDA’s recently completed club rooms.
The quilt depicted various aspects of the Collie RDA including horses, the native surrounds and the riders themselves.
The group visited the Collie RDA prior to beginning the project to get an idea of what elements best represent the RDA Collie group and to share the ideas with RDA state president Jo Williams.
Group members Lesley Jones, Trish Saunders and Judy Italiano spent around eight weeks crafting the quilting project.
Group member Jan Scally donated her time and skills to complete the quilt stitching on the handcrafted piece.
The Collie Art Group members handed the piece to RDA state president Jo Williams at their Gardiner Road premises last Friday.
Group member Judy Italiano said they thoroughly enjoyed completing the piece.
“It was good just to come out to the RDA to see what they do,” she said.
“We enjoyed doing it, it was a challenge.”
