The Collie Eagles Football Club has been busy preparing for their annual auction fundraiser, which is set to be held this Saturday.
Auction organiser Martin Coughlan ‘Irish’ has been running the event for close to 30 years and said the auction was one of the major fundraisers for the footy club.
“The last few years’ we have raised about $10,000 for the day, so it’s a bit of hard work for some of the boys beforehand but it’s a good fundraiser for the club,” he said.
Collie Eagles Football Club president Ash Stewart said funds from the auction go towards upgrades at the club and to purchase new equipment.
Mr Stewart thanked local businesses for their donations and support.
If businesses or individuals would like to donate to the auction, they can do so by contacting Mark ‘Irish’ on 0450558333.
The auction will be held at the Goods Shed this Saturday for a 10am start.
Bidders can register on the day and a $2 per person registration fee applies.
The auction runs for about three hours.
