The inaugural South West Football League women’s representative side flattened their Peel counterparts in Mandurah on Saturday.
Superior speed and skills meant the visiting South West team controlled the entire match with many players sharing the limelight.
South West captain Trish Lake kicked the first goal of the match and quickly followed it up with a second.
Peel registered their only score of the match halfway through the opening term, a rushed behind, while Bethany Bond scored two first term majors for the South West.
Claudia Porritt kicked a goal for the South West and Lake added a third before the first break. Bond exploded in the second term, raining home five goals while Kristy Larsen scored one to stretch the half-time margin to 73 points.
Lake and Bond combined to add the first three goals of the third term before Brittany Gliddon got on the board. A second major to Larsen gave the South West a 106 point lead at the final change.
Coach Teagan Smith encouraged her side to keep the pressure on and ensured each lady was given plenty of game time.
The South West side remained relentless throughout the final term to post a 134-point victory.
