Hockey – men’s
THE primary A's provided the tightest match of the season Monday afternoon with Adam Bateman having a game to remember in goals for Green team making multiple saves by hand and foot, very exciting to watch.
Tom Bell together with Brady Becker linked up well in the middle and really took it to Grey team. The pressure was eventually to much for Green with Charlie Bell having a Day Out and was on the end of the second of two late goals. Grey 2-0 up over Green.
Please note that due to School Country Week there will be a bye for Primary A and Intermediates this Monday, June 26.

Well done to all the girls, they played really well and were unlucky not to finish higher.
J7/8 Championship
Collie entered their year 7/8 girl’s hockey team into the championship division at the Bunbury carnival. The girls had a great weekend playing some skillful hockey showing lots of promise for the future carnival being held in Perth. It was a very open division this year with our girls narrowly missing out on the finals by one point which made them finish a very credible third. A big thank you to Gary Faries for coaching the team and for Hannah Swan and Portia Old for umpiring our girls on the weekend.

Soccer
COLLIE Power men’s took on Dynamos in Bunbury on Sunday, June 18 in what turned out to be one of the games of the season so far. Collie started well against a very strong Dynamos team but failed to create clear cut chances. The hosts took the lead around half an hour in to the game when a miscued clearance fell to the Dynamos striker who expertly lofted the ball over keeper Leandro Bessa who was off his line. The score was 1-0 at half-time.
A change of personnel and formation saw Collie take control of the game in the second half. Jac Hollins had a massive opportunity but the host’s keeper saved brilliantly. Garreth Harker put Jovan Duricic through to equal the scoring but just minutes later, the hosts countered and regained their one goal advantage. Duricic was able to win a penalty late in the game but was unable to hit the target as his shot sailed over the cross bar.
Dynamos were able to hold on for a 2-1 win – just the second league defeat for Collie this season in a game where perhaps luck was with the hosts. All in all, a very intense and captivating contest which now leaves The Power in third place. They take on Eaton-Dardenup this Sunday in Collie.
Back in Collie, the ladies were also facing Dynamos. Stand-in keeper Kirsten Thomson performed admirably throughout the afternoon however, due to short numbers, Collie eventually went down 3-0 to the team they defeated just a few weeks ago.
They make the long trip to Dunsborough this Sunday to take on The Towners.
