AFL – Junior
COLLIE Eagles Year 7 played Dalyellup Purple on the weekend. Unfortunately going down to an older, slicker side.
With players failing to front up for the journey down the hill Collie were on the back foot from the start.
With Dalyellup having five Year 8’s playing down the mindset was poor and Collie trailed two goals to nil at quarter-time.
Again Dalyellup started the second quarter well before Charlie Bell was moved on to their most dangerous player, despite getting not much help to shut his opponent down he was able to start finding the ball and pushing the ball forward, where Levi Cooper starved of opportunities for the first quarter and a bit came to life with three goals in succession to give Collie a glimmer of hope.
The third quarter was unfortunately much the same as the first with Dalyellup scoring four goals to one. Levi Cooper added a fourth, Jackson Broadbent was trying hard in the ruck, Reece Pilatti was giving his all through the middle and Lewis Hordienko was solid down back.
Collie fought the game out to the end inaccurate kicking in the last could have made the result a little closer with one goal to three for the term .
Final scores: Dalyellup 13.5 (83) to Collie 5.5 (35)
Best players: Charlie Bell, Levi Cooper, Reece Pilatti, Jackson Broadbent, Lewis Hordienko and Thomas Harrison.
