Moodiarrup Hall Annual Dinner
The community is invited to the annual Sunday Roast on Sunday August 13 at the Moodiarrup Hall.
Each year they honour a pioneering family to cut the Hall’s birthday cake and this year the members of the Whitaker family will do the honours. The Whitaker family came to the Duranillin-Moodiarrup area in 1947 – 70 years ago.
The meal will be pumpkin soup, roast meat and vegetables, followed by dessert and tea and coffee.

Men’s Shed Say
Would you like to get more out of the Men’s Shed in Darkan?
Have you got an idea you’d love to see happen? Then come along for a Community Cuppa Chat at the Shed on Wednesday August 16.
There are two sessions with the first from 10.30am to 12pm with an ideas workshop and morning tea following by a more casual session from 12pm-1.30pm with an open time to drop in for a chat.

Op-Shop Ball
The Darkan Primary School P&C is holding an Op Shop Ball as a fundraiser for the school library upgrade on Saturday August 19.
Come dressed in your finest Op Shop Fashion and decorate your table with Op Shop finds.
The cost is $50 per table which includes a cheese platter on your table.

WAX 17
WAX (West Arthur eXpression) is back for its fifth biannual installment.
The art form this year is “photo stories” with photographer Astrid Voltzke.
There will be a workshop on Thursday August 24 at 7pm at the West Arthur CRC with a cost of $5 per person.
The idea is to translate what you learn at the workshop into your own personal project and then enter something into the culminating exhibition (date to be confirmed).

Old Time Dance
Seniors are invited to an Old Time Dance at the Darkan Town Hall on Wednesday August 9 with music by Sue Piesse.
It will run from 1-3.30 pm and those attending are asked to bring along a plate of afternoon tea to share.
