Busselton has been selected as the next location for the Fairbridge Festival Quest youth song-writing workshop.
This will be the first time festival organisers have held the workshop in Busselton and they felt it was time because of all the song-writing talent in the region.
Earlier this year Busselton musician Sarah Strahan was one of the quest winners and made her way on to the stage at Fairbrige Festival.
The workshops are run in conjunction with the festival to nurture young talent in WA.
Youth who have a song they have been working on or would like to enter the Fairbridge Festival Quest are encouraged to take part in the workshop.
It will be the seventh year Fairbridge Festival have held song-writing contest, and song-writers who would like to participate in the workshop do not have to enter the quest.
The quest consists of two groups in the song-writing competition including 12-15 years and 16-18 years of age along with two categories, song-writing and performance.
The four winners from the competition will have the opportunity to play live at Fairbridge Festival and receive a range of other prizes.
Fairbridge Festival organisers subsidise the facilitators who host the workshop, and they would like to find sponsors to help subsidise or provide a venue to hold the workshop in Busselton.
Previously workshops have been held at schools, town halls and the Zenith Music shop in Perth and are looking for an appropriate space they could use.
If anyone is able to assist event organisers or would like more information about the competition or workshop please contact Fairbridge Festival communications manager Leanne Casellas by phoning 0449 020 536 or emailing leanne@fairbridgefestival.com.au.
