This year’s Collie Adventure Race has put its best foot forward by introducing two new events to the line-up.

The junior race, sponsored by Premier Coal, will speed through Collie on October 15. The event has included a 600 metre run, 3 kilometre bike run and another 600m run.

Collie Adventure Race juniors committee member Simone Fraser said children now have a chance to get involved in one of Collie’s biggest sporting events.

“Being the first year, we would like to see a broad section – all the schools – to try and get on board, get their mates together and join in because we want to build that going forward and make that a stock standard event,” she said.

The Bendigo Bank Short Course, also on October 15, has competitors taking on a 3km run, 3km (optional) canoe and 5km mountain bike ride.

Competitors can complete the courses individually or in teams.
