The Collie Bowling Club will host this season’s Opening Day on Sunday, October 8.
To start the day there will be a breakfast at 9am followed by a games at 10am with club colours or whites to be worn.
Any person wishing to play, other than members, need to wear flat sole shoes and bring a hat.
Pine Hauliers Meat Pack
There was a good roll up of bowlers on Wednesday, September 13 and all enjoyed the weather.
A group of 36 bowlers took to the green and some good bowls were played.
Winners of the day were Tom Edwards, Phil Warburton and Barry Lowe with 4 points plus 25.
Second was the team of Ross White, Steve Matthews and Les McCamish with 4 points plus 18 and third was Phil Fettes, John Bell and Neil Roberts with 4 points plus 16.
McCafe Scroungers
Sunday was the final day of the Winter Scroungers competition with a good roll up which ended in a full green of bowlers.
Into the finals went Ray Colgan, Rod Garner, Kerry Scott, Vicki Daniel, Brian Bass, Jeff Crowe.
The winners then went into the final with the highest score for the season taken out by Kerry Scott.
The players with the most sixes were Barry Lowe and Kerry Scott.
Winner was Ray Colgan with Kerry Scott second and third was Jeff Crowe.
Highest Score was Kerry Scott and the consolation was Rod Cordery.
Ladies competition
The second round of the women’s pennants was played at Boyanup but unfortunately the Collie team did not win a game.
Lyn’s team were close and the other team lost by a few shots.
On Thursday, September 21, the ladies are holding an Opening Day and Friendship Day where members can bring a friend.
Any one wishing to play needs to be at the greens by 9am for a 9.30am start.
Summer Scroungers
On Sunday at 9am, the annual general meeting for the Summer Scroungers will be held with players to attend as positions are vacant.
There will be a game to follow the meeting.
