A woman has been rushed to hospital after she crashed her car into the kitchen of an Albany aged care unit late on Saturday evening.
It is understood the woman had been driving her Holden Commodore when she ran an intersection at the corner of David Street and Ulster Road, and crashed the car into a brick wall bordering the facility.
Police said the Commodore then continued through the wall into a courtyard, and then into the rear of the unit before coming to a stop in the kitchen.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash after reports the woman had become trapped by the debris that had fallen around her car.
The occupants of the unit were home at the time, but were not hurt.
She was taken to Albany Hospital for assessment, and police are currently investigating if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
