While you might not ever see them standing on the podium, coaches play an important role in the success of teams and individuals.
To give a top coach the chance to step into the spotlight and receive the recognition they deserve, locals are asked to nominate a coaching hero for this year’s Wally Foreman Award.
The prestigious prize rewards one outstanding South West coach each year whose recent performance has set them apart from their peers.
The announcement of this year’s award recipient will be made at the South West Academy of Sport’s annual awards night on December 1.
SWAS chief executive officer Bernice Butlion encouraged people in the community to put themselves in the running to receive the honour.
“There are some amazing coaches in the South West and we’d like to see more putting their hand up this year,” she said.
Nominations close October 16.
