I put myself forward as a candidate for the Collie Shire Council elections on the strength of my track record.
Over the past 16 years I have worked hard to keep rates down rather than raise rates.
My experience both in life and as a successful business owner has helped me recognise areas where council can and should make changes.
I have been actively involved in various council committees including the audit, policy review, plant, bushfire, townscape and museum committees.
I have also had input on industrial land and know that there is more than enough available at present.
In the community I have been involved in a variety of groups.
I am extremely proud of my involvement in the Collie Community Bank, as a founding and current board member.
I am also a past president of the WA Axemen’s League and the WA division of the Axemen’s Council of Australia.
I have also been a board member of boh the Collie Chamber of Commerce and the Bunbury Wellington Economic Alliance.
Currently I am the chairman of the Collie Veteran Car Club and state president of the Vintage Tractor and Machinery Association. I ask electors to carefully consider the options in this election and return a council which is functional and works in the interests of all electors.
