Works and Projects Update
Construction works are continuing on Darkan South (near Lake Towerinning entrance) Road and works will continue until approximately October 20.
Maintenance graders will be working on Cordering North, Moodiarrup West, Cordering South and Gibbs roads and also Bokal East Arthur, Morrell roads and heading towards Beaufort
Loose Parts Play
Come along for some fun in the Darkan Skate Park on Sunday October 29 at 10am There will be a free session for children 0 -15 yrs of Loose Parks Play. Loose Parts are not toys - they are items with no defined use that can be moved, changed and manipulated.

Water Bomber Reloading Training
Water bomber aircraft provide important support to the Shire for bush fire suppression with the bombers reloading at the Hillman airstrip. Reloader training will be provided on October 22.
Please contact Mesha at the Shire on 9736 2222 to register your interest in attending the training and providing reloading assistance for the water bombers this summer.
West Arthur eXpression Exhibition
Come along and help celebrate the conclusion of WAX 17 with a display of photo stories in the Darkan Town Hall.
The hall opens at 5.30pm with food for sale and a small bar.
There will be some great photos and it promises to be an enjoyable evening out.
Seniors Week Lunch
All Seniors are invited to the Seniors Week Lunch at the Eric Farrow Pavilion in Wagin on Tuesday October 31 from 11am to 2pm. This includes a workshop with some physical health tips.
There will be a bus leaving Darkan at 10am sharp from the Darkan Town Hall car park.

Open Garden
It’s that lovely time of year again when gardens are their best and Spring Valley North at 10143 Coalfields Hwy (2km east of Darkan) will once again open their garden for viewing on Sunday October 22 from 9am to 4pm.
Gardens also open that day include that of Roy and Denise Gooding at Lot 274 Coalfields Hwy in Darkan and Robyn Waddell’s at 42 Hillman St Darkan.
Admission is by donation which will go to Parkinson’s WA.
