Nine brave students from St Brigid’s School are sporting a new look after volunteering to have their heads shaved for charity.
Students Logan Elks, Mitchell Cheng, Henry McDonald, Jack McDonald, Gary Holden, Toby Hanns, Diesel Davies, Charlie McDonald and Ben Hart stepped up to have their heads shaved in front of their peers to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation last week.
Between the donations for the World’s Greatest Shave and the ‘crazy hair day’ the school also held, the school raised over $2000 for the cause, which included a last minute donation of $100 for principal Daniel Graves to have his head shaved a well.
The initiative was organised by the school’s Engagement Ministry Leadership group, made up of grade six students, and was held in honour of former student Zac Hart, who passed away from cancer in 2013.
The names of the 10 participants in St Brigid’s School’s World’s Greatest Shave will be engraved onto a shield erected at the school after their first shave for charity in 2012.
