A MOTORCYCLIST, believed to be in his 30s, was seriously injured after colliding with a Toyota Landcruiser about 3.40pm yesterday (Thursday).
He suffered serious injuries to the legs, arms and head.
The collision occurred on the corner of Park Street and Benwell Place.
Snr Sgt Rod Boehm, officer in charge of Collie Police Station, dismissed unconfirmed reports the accident had been a hit-and-run.
“The driver had driven up the street, turned around and came back, though it might have looked like it (hit-and-run) to onlookers,” Snr Sgt Boehm said.
The motorcyclist was taken to Collie Hospital until an RAC Rescue helicopter arrived from Perth.
It landed at St Brigid’s School oval about 5pm and arrived at Royal Perth Hospital at 6.10pm.
