A LOUD explosion shook the southern side of Collie about 8pm last night but the cause is unknown.
Local police said today they knew nothing about it.
Collie State Emergency Service (SES) incident manager, Lenette Adams heard it at her home in Wilson Park but local emergency services were not called out, she said,
She had been watching television when she heard a “huge blast”, she said. Her two cats, which had been asleep, were startled into wakefulness and had their eyes fixed on the front door.
Dogs were barking up and down Moore Street and a friend heard it in Telfer Crescent, she added.
Candy Clayton of Irwin Street said her house windows were rattled by the blast.
She and a neighbour rushed outside but could see or hear nothing further.
