Representatives from the Cancer Council WA joined members of the Collie Cancer Support Group to assist cancer sufferers and loved ones in the region.
Cancer Council WA cancer support coordinator Hayley Tuck met with the CCSG, clients in the area and members of the public on Friday, June 9 at the CWA Hall.
Ms Tuck said the consultations provided much-needed assistance for patients or family members across the state.
“Being given a wig in a time when you’re financially struggling because you’re not able to work like you were makes a huge difference,” she said.
“We just want to make sure that people, particularly if they have had treatment in Perth, don’t fall through the gap.”
The session provided information on varying forms of cancer, types of treatment, financial assistance, resources and support services.
Collie Cancer Support Group secretary Linda Chiera said the support group was open to all.
The Cancer Council visits Collie for free consultation sessions once per year.
