Collie Senior High School year eleven student Chloe Craker has taken out the silver medal in the bi-annual regional World Skills competition held in Bunbury in June.
Chloe took part in the cooking skills competition, in which students from four different high schools who were studying a certificate II in kitchen operations prepared a three-course menu that included a bruschetta entree, a main of chicken breast and duchess potatoes with a cream mustard sauce and a lemon polenta cake dessert.
The competition was held at Bunbury TAFE where Chloe attended as part of her Vocational education training (VET) studies on a Thursday and Friday for a semester.
Chloe said she was happy to have taken out second place in the skills competition.
Chloe is set to start a work placement at the Ridge Hotel this week as part of ongoing VET studies.
The keen cook will be presented with her certificate at an upcoming school assembly.
