About $30,000 worth of jewellery, cash and other valuables was stolen during a burglary in Walsh Street in the early hours of Tuesday, October 3. Police were called after a neighbour noticed a rear door to the property was open.
Homeowners Debra and Barry Jack had gone to Perth to visit family when their house was broken into.
Thieves stole a large quantity of goods from the property including; war medals, cash, jewellery, watches, a large collection of Swarovski crystals, and several important documents which were contained in one of three fire safes that were also taken.
Many of the goods stolen had sentimental value, having been handed down through generations in the family.
Ms Jack said among the stolen items was a large quantity of paperwork relating to her genealogical research, house deeds and personal wills. The couple have since installed further security measures at their home.
