McKenzie Gala Day – The ladies held their McKenzie Gala Day on Friday with a full field of bowlers from around the South West. The teams played 12 end for the first game 10 ends for the second had lunch then played 12 ends for the last. The two teams that won had had a few former Collie girls playing who now live in Bunbury. Winners – Ann Blechynden, Rhonda Christinger, Dot Deboer, Lyn Rodda (Bunbury); second – Eileen Mortimer, Rida Sievers, Pam Grigg, Lesley Wood.(Bunbury); third – Alison Josland, Norma Johnston, Marleen Waldock, Marion Robbins (Boddington);1st round winners – Nia Archers team (Brunswick); 2nd round winners Jan Mundays team (Binningup); 3rd round winners Lyn Egerton-Greens team (Harvey).
Saturday Pennants Mens – 11/11 – Collie division 1 were home to Eaton and were in the running until Eaton took the ascendancy on two rinks to win overall. Collies division 2 went to Brunswick and won overall. Division 1 – Collie 1 point 54 aggregate lost to Eaton 5 points 62 aggregate Ross White, A Collins, G Cater, W Stocks won 24 to 18 T Edwards, J McElroy, R White, R Colgan lost 16 to 18 G Keep, P Fettes, R Guilfoyle, B Butcher lost 11 to 26; Division 2 – Collie 5 points 64 aggregate defeated Brunswick 1 point 57 aggregate S Matthews, R Garner, J Waywood, J Stone won 22 to 11 K McKenzie, L McCamish, V Brojanowski, J Bell won 25 to 24 G Old, H Wiggers, R Searle, J Godfrey lost 11 to 22.
Pine Haulers Meat Pack – 8/11 – Another good roll up of bowlers and the format was 2x4x2, 3x3 and 2x2. Two winners on 6 points and plus 27 was decided on a spin of the wheel. 1st PHil Fettes and Hans Wiggers with 6 points plus 27; 2nd Kelly Flynn and Gayle Riley with 6 points plus 27; 3rd Ross White and Len Flynn with 6 points plus 26; 4th Ray Colgan and Kevin Studman with 6 points plus 20; 5th Ron White and Graeme Carter with 6 points plus 15.
Melbourne Cup Luncheon – 7/11 – A good crowd attended the Melbourne cup luncheon with a game of bowls and a call on a Calcutta. 1st game winners - 1st Vicki Daniel and Kath McElroy 2 points plus 20; 2nd Rod Garner and Jim Stone with 2 points plus 9; 2nd Game Winners 1st John Wayward and Glenice Kaurin with 2 points plus 6; Equal second Ray Colgan and Steve Taylor Graeme Carter and Jamie Godfrey with 2 points plus 1.
Reubens News Championship Pairs – 19/11 – The Ruebens News Men's Championship Pairs will be played on Sunday 19th November at 11.45am for trial ends then the grand final will be played. Sunday Scroungers will be on in the morning 19th.
