Last Saturday the Year 8 team played Dalyellup Beach Black at Dalyellup College, winning the toss and choosing to bat first. Robbie Chitty opened with Zak Reuben and Reuben was first out caught for four with the score 1/8.
Baxter Miller came in at number three and added a 19-run partnership with Chitty, before Chitty was run out for nine and the score 2/27. Adam Worlley was next in and when Miller went bowled for 12, then Taj Jackson came and went bowled for one, Collie was 4/39 in the 12th over.
Jackson Broadbent joined Worlley and the pair got Collie to 4/44 at the 15 over change. Max Ireland opened the bowling along with Blayden Coverley who was given a chance to open for the first time.
Coverley has really improved his bowling this season and bowled 3 overs 0/8, which included his first ever maiden over. Coverley also produced the first wicket with a direct hit run out thrown to the bowlers end from square leg. Max Ireland also bowled well and picked up the second wicket, bowled, two balls after the run out to have Dalyellup 2/10.
The third wicket was another direct hit run out, this time thrown by Liam Wilson to the batsman's end from backward point and the score was 3/12. Zak Reuben (2 overs 1/2) made it 4/16 with a wicket caught by Ireland. Judd Rinder bowled three overs 0/10 and Josh Elliott three overs 0/9, before Robbie Chitty picked up two wickets in three balls with both of them bowled to make the score 6/36. At the 15 over change Dalyellup were only three runs behind at 6/41.
Adam Worlley and Jackson Broadbent resumed the batting and both batted very well, adding 42 runs in the first six overs after the break. The partnership ended on 51 runs when Broadbent was run out for 21 with the score 5/90. Shortly after Worlley was retired on 29 not out. Liam Wilson made seven before being retired and Max Ireland was retired on 12. Judd Rinder was the next wicket to fall caught for six with the score on 6/125. Josh Elliott finished one not out and Blayden Coverley hit the last two balls of the innings to the boundary to finish on nine not out. Collie's score after 30 overs was 6/135 with Dalyellup Black needing 95 to win from their second 15 overs with four wickets left
Robbie Chitty bowled the first over after the break with no luck and finished with two overs 1/6. Liam Wilson bowled two overs 0/14 before Adam Worlley picked up the seventh wicket caught by Chitty with the score on 67. Worlley bowled two overs 1/11. The eighth wicket fell with the score on 70 thanks to the third run out of the innings, with keeper Max Ireland gathering a wayward throw and throwing the stumps down. Jackson Broadbent bowled two overs 0/4 then Taj Jackson took the last two wickets by hitting the stumps both times to finish with two overs 2/10.
Dalyellup Black bowled out for 82 after 24 overs. Collie won by 53 runs to make it six wins from six games.
