Last Saturday Collie 5th grade played Dardanup at Dardanup.
Collie lost the toss and were sent in to bat, Aaron Worlley and James Jaworski opened the batting and Worlley was first out for three with the score 1/3.
Rory Bebbington was next in and also went early, run out for three with Collie 2/6.
When Jaworski was caught for 11 the score was not looking good at 3/17.
Josh Fraser and Trent Butcher steadied things a little with a 26-run partnership before Fraser was bowled for nine and the score 4/43.
When Rhett Sutherland was caught for a duck then Billy Bebbington caught for two, the score was 6/64 and things not going Collie's way.
Butcher was doing his best to keep the scoreboard ticking over despite losing wickets, with three 6s including one first ball faced.
Johnno Hughes came in and provided good support, defending well and pushing the ball around to rotate the strike.
Butcher’s innings came to an end caught behind on 40 with Collie 7/85, then Hughes was bowled for 12 and the score 8/91.
Jack Rinder and Brendon Latham came to the crease and put on a very handy 38-run ninth wicket partnership.
Good effort considering Rinder was playing his first game for the season, and Latham was feeling the effects of over hydrating on amber fluid the night before.
Rinder went bowled for 18 and the score was 9/129.
Kim Rush was last out for 2 and Collie bowled out for 136, with Latham finishing on a well made 22 not out.
Kim Rush and Rory Bebbington opened the bowling and despite only going for a couple of runs an over, couldn't find an early wicket.
The first wicket fell at 1/24 thanks to a run out thrown in by Rory.
James Jaworski and Jack Rinder both come on and bowled three overs 0/12 before Butcher came on with spin, and picked up the second wicket stumped by wicket keeper Worlley.
The score of 2/47 became 3/58 with another run out and a good piece of fielding from Rory Bebbington.
Butcher finished with five overs 1/21 and then young Adam Worlley (four overs 0/15) bowled well with his chance with the ball.
Rush came back on to try get a wicket as a partnership was building and finished with eight overs 0/21, with Billy Bebbington trying to breakthrough with spin at the other end.
With Dardenup only needing 30 from nine overs with seven wickets in hand, Billy Bebbington finally broke a 49-run partnership by getting both batsman in two balls.
The first caught by Jaworski and the second caught out deep by Sutherland, with a majestic juggling effort that ended up wedged under his right wing.
Billy couldn't manage the hat-trick but had given Collie a sniff with his four overs 2/19, and the score 5/107.
Rory Bebbington (eight overs 1/21) then came on and and picked up the sixth wicket caught by Worlley with the score 123.
Aaron Worlley (four overs 2/10) then picked up a couple of wickets, one bowled and one caught by Rory and all of a sudden Collie had taken 5/28 from eight overs, leaving Dardanup still needing two to win from the last over with two wickets left.
Jack Rinder was thrown the ball and the field all brought in.
First ball of the over was edged very luckily over slip and Dardanup won by two wickets.
