CHARLIE CROWE DAY SCROUNGERS
Two greens were used in the Charlie Crowe day on Sunday, January 7.
Charlie was a member of our club and a good scroungers member who played in many scroungers events and implimented the format years ago.
Many members remember Charlie at the scroungers sitting in his favourite chair and playing.
Twenty-six players turned out for the day.
All players played 16 ends of three bowls and the winner off each rink played six ends in a semi final.
The eight players reaching the semis were: Shirley Moody, Barry Lowe, Len Flynn, Peter Kaurin, Kerry Scott, Rick Daniel, Bill Mitchell, Ray Colgan.
Four winners then played four ends in the grand final.

Second: Kerry Scott;
Third: Len Flynn;
Fourth: Barry Lowe;
Highest score: Ray Colgan;
Consolation prize: Peter DeBondi.
PINE HAULIERS MEAT PACK
For the new year start of bowls a very good turnout attended the Wednesday, January 3 meat pack competition.
1st: Graeme Old and Les McCamish with 4 points plus 34;
2nd: Max Cubic and Jim Stone with 4 points plus 15;
3rd: Graeme Carter and Phil Warburton with 4 points plus 8.
PHOENIX GLASS PAIRS
A good field of bowlers played in the Phoenix Glass pairs on the night of Friday, December 29 and enjoyed the format and the evening.
1st: Phil Fettes and Steve Matthews with 4 points plus 16;
2nd: Terry Uren and Len Flynn with 4 points plus 8.
LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP TRIPLES
The Scott Championship Triples commence on January 18 and nominations need to be on the board by Tuesday, January 16.
The games will be a drawn game and two rounds will be played depending on numbers.
GALA DAY SORRENTO
A team from Collie attended and played in the Sorrento Gala Day last Friday, January 5 and out of the 36 teams who entered, the Collie girls came away in second place over all and brought back a few goodies.
The team was made up of Lyn Mitchell, Kath Cluning, Glenice Kaurin, Vicki Daniel.
