The Collie Public Library was turned into a workshop on Monday, January 15 as it hosted a Scrap Battle recycled art workshop.
School-aged children were treated to an afternoon of fun as they were guided by artist Bateen in turning recycled material into masterpieces.
Everyday items like bottle caps, string and cardboard, along with other things such as dart boards and computer keyboards were recycled to create pieces of art.
The children could then enter their works into the Scrap Battle competition, run by the Wellington Regional Waste Education program for students from around the South West.
The competition closes at the end of Term 1, and anyone interested in entering can still do so by dropping off their work at the Collie Library.
The winners will be announced in May, with an exhibition of the works at Stirling Street Art Centre in Bunbury.
