In hot conditions a field of 62 played for the Spry’s sponsored par event.
In a close finish the ever consistent Trevor McCormick won the first place prize with a great round of +4. “Macca” put all his practice to good use to secure the win by the narrowest of margins.
Kevin Ireland matched the winners round scoring +4 as well, but had to settle for second prize by way of countback.
John Michalak was the last card in and secured the third place trophy on offer by the generous sponsors with +2.
Dennis Cocker, Peter House and Brian Banks all returned +1 and Ian Tweedie, David Laird, Ray Cooper, Keith Russell, Phil Warburton and Kim Derbyshire all played to their respective handicaps and returned square.
Spry’s also put on a trophy for the ladies with Rhonda Annandale making it two wins in two weeks.
Rhonda scored an impressive +6 to easily win from Nancy Lynn on +1.

On Tuesday only a handful of players turned up due to the rain for club sponsored leisure day trophy.
Colin Giblett made light of the conditions and won the event with 39.
Trevor McCormick warmed up for Saturdays round with 39 as well and William Hammond had 38.
The best vet on the day went to Garry Beard with 37 points.
Thursday scroungers attracted a good field of 55 golfers.
In a close contest Stephen Farquhar held off Phil Eldridge and Greg White for the win with all three golfers scoring 19 points.
George Newlands and John Rabjones both had 18 followed by Rob Cavanagh, Ray McGill and John Wray on 17.
Vicki Graham had 17 points to be the leading lady.
Greg White returned the best gross score with a round of 40.
