Collie Police are investigating a burglary that occurred while the occupant of the house was at home this week.
Senior Sergeant Heath Soutar said the offender had forced open a rear door and entered the property on Swanstone Street in the early hours of Friday, February 2.
The offender rifled through drawers in the house, but left without taking anything.
Senior Sergeant Soutar said the occupant was not harmed during the burglary.
Copper piping was stolen from a vacant house on Ogden Street sometime during January, while a shed at a property on Steere Street was broken into between January 28 and 31. A washing machine and other items were stolen from the shed.
Senior Sergeant Soutar said the thefts serve as a reminder to the community to be vigilant if there was a vacant property nearby.
Police are also investigating another theft from a shed on Moira Road that occurred overnight between February 1 and 2.
Senior Sergeant Soutar said the offender had accessed the open shed and taken two chainsaws along with a range of other tools.
Police are searching for a woman involved in a theft from Coles on the afternoon of Saturday, February 3.
Senior Sergeant Soutar said that CCTV had captured the woman placing an item in her bag while shopping.
He said that the woman had paid for the rest of her shopping when she reached the checkout, but left without paying for the item in her bag.
Senior Sergeant Soutar also said police had charged a 20-year-old female from Collie with criminal damage over an incident that occurred on January 17, where the front windows of Coles were smashed with a baseball bat.
Senior Sergeant Soutar said that as a result of information received from the public and reviewing CCTV from a range of sources, police were able to identify the woman.
She will appear in court later this month.
Police charged two males with drug offences on the evening of Sunday, February 4 after their car was pulled over on Saunders Street.
Senior Sergeant Soutar said that after speaking to the men, police searched the car and seized amphetamine and smoking implements.
The men will face court later this month.
Police are also looking for information about an incident that occurred at a house on Steere Street sometime between February 1 and 2.
Senior Sergeant Soutar said that a front window of the house was smashed when a rock was thrown through it.
Finally, Senior Sergeant Soutar said police would be continuing to pull drivers over and administer random breath tests.
“We’ve been having some success lately, so this is just a reminder not to drink and drive,” he said.
