Two-time Golden Guitar-winning country music artist Tom Curtain is bringing along the Katherine Outback Experience to put on a show for Collie.
Mr Curtain recently won country music’s highest accolade at the Golden Guitar awards in Tamworth and said he’s excited to bring his show down through the South West.
“I’ve never been to Collie, but I recently met a young fella from there and he was really talking the place up,” he said.
Mr Curtain said he enjoys taking his show, which blends his passions of horse and dog training with country music, to regional towns.
“Each town has it’s own uniqueness,” he said.
“It’s very interesting for me. I’ve always got my ear to the ground [when on the road] in case there’s a song there.”
Mr Curtain and the Katherine Outback Express will be performing at the Collie Harness Racing Club on Friday, February 23, with the show beginning at 6pm.
He said Collie could expect a show that was fun for the whole family with a ‘real community atmosphere’.
Mr Curtain said his show would include the of breaking in and saddling of a local horse, working dog demonstrations, trick horses and finishes with a barbecue and some live music.
He also said he was excited to be helping out the community, the St Brigid’s School P&F association using the event to fundraise.
Mr Curtain said that his show has taken him across the country from his home in Katherine in the Northern Territory all the way to Albany.
The tour will be promoting Mr Curtain’s newest album Territory Time, which is available on iTunes and at the Katherine Outback Experience website.
