LAST Saturday the boys played Dalyellup Gold at Roche Park.
Collie won the toss and chose to bat, with things not starting well at all.
Within three overs Max Ireland (0) Adam Worlley (0) and Judd Rinder (1) were all back in the shed and the score 3/3.
Opener Josh Elliott was joined by Baxter Miller and the pair fought hard to stop the rot, putting on 23 runs before Miller was unfortunately run out for eight.
Jackson Broadbent was then bowled for three and Liam Wilson caught for 0 to leave Collie very shaky at 6/47 after the first 15 overs.
Elliott was playing well to hold things together as best he could and went to the change 22 not out.
An effort that showed his potential as a future leader.
Collie bowled well to restrict runs in the first 15 overs of bowling, but weren't able to produce a breakthrough.
Jackson Broadbent bowled three overs for eight runs, Zak Reuben three overs for six, Adam Worlley three overs for six, Blayden Coverley two overs for nine, Josh Elliott two overs for six and Taj Jackson two overs for four.
After 15 Dalyellup Gold were 0/40.
Josh Elliott resumed batting with Zak Reuben at the other end.
The pair batted well in a 23-run partnership before Elliott was caught for a well made 29 and the score 7/66.
Blake Rees and Taj Jackson were then both bowled for 0 and Collie were in all sorts of trouble at 9/67, a lead of only 27.
Reuben was then joined by Blayden Coverley and the pair showed a willingness to fight things out, producing a partnership that showed a reason for never giving up.
While Reuben was working hard pushing the ball around for one's and two's, Coverley provided the muscle and produced his highest score of 26 not out which included five boundaries.
Reuben finished not out 18 and thanks to a great unbeaten 55-run partnership for the last wicket.
Collie finished 9/122.
Collie finally took a wicket in the first over back in the field thanks to a catch taken by Coverley from the bowling of Baxter Miller (3 overs 1/6), and the score 1/40.
Max Ireland bowled 3 overs 0/16, before Blake Rees took a caught and bowled from his first ball to make the score 2/62.
Rees then took another two wickets, one bowled and one caught by Judd Rinder to finish with 3 overs 3/11 and the score 4/74.
Adam Worlley came back and finished with 5 overs 0/8 then Taj Jackson took a very good catch at gully from the bowling of Zak Reuben (4 overs 1/9), to have Dalyellup gold 5/76.
Liam Wilson bowled 1 over 0/5 before Jackson Broadbent (4 overs 1/9) took a wicket thanks to a good catch by keeper Josh Elliott.
Taj Jackson bowled the last over which was a maiden and included a run out to finish with 3 overs 0/4.
Dalyellup Gold finish their 30 overs on 7/85
