Semi Final – Collie vs Leschenault
Collie batted first with Josh Elliott and Zak Reuben opening. The pair got the start the team was after and took the score to 31, before Reuben was out for 14.
Judd Rinder joined Elliott and continued the good start with well controlled batting and after the first 15 overs Collie were doing well on 1/59. Opening bowler Jackson Broadbent got things going Collie's way with the ball early, taking the first two wickets bowled and the score 2/2. Broadbent finished with 4 overs 2/8.
Adam Worlley took the third wicket caught by Liam Wilson with the score 3/11, then Zak Reuben got another bowled and the score was 4/12. Robbie Chitty then came on and took a wicket first ball caught by Blayden Coverley to make it 5/12. Chitty took another two wickets bowled and had two overs 3/1, with the score 7/14. Taj Jackson then bowled three overs 1/12 with a wicket caught by Judd Rinder, and Liam Wilson bowled one over 0/8. After 15 Leschenault were 8/29.
After the change Josh Elliott was out for a well made 23, then Baxter Miller followed for 0 and the score was 3/60. Max Ireland and Judd Rinder then started to score freely and put on a partnership over 50 before both were retired to give other batters some time in the middle. Rinder 32 not out and Ireland 27 not out. Blayden Coverley wasnt able to get going and he was out for 2, Liam Wilson made one, Jackson Broadbent one, Adam Worlley three not out and Robbie Chitty three not out. Collie finished 6/131 after 30 overs.
After the change, Blayden Coverley bowled two overs 0/10, Baxter Miller two overs 0/14 and Josh Elliott two overs 0/11. After a partnership of 44 Adam Worlley took the ninth wicket caught and bowled to finish with 5 overs, 3 maidens 2/2. Zak Reuben then finished things off with a wicket bowled to have Leschenault all out for 75. Reuben bowled 3.3 overs, 2 maidens 2/3.
Collie won by 56 runs and now play the grand final against Grammar at Roche Park this weekend.
Year 7 cricket
Semi Final – Collie vs Leschenault
Leschenault batted first and got away to a good start, with Archie Boyle bowling 4 overs 0/23 and Monty Dallywater also unable to take a wicket in his first spell.
Cody Irvine bowled 4 overs 0/15 before Lucas Worlley came on and took the first wicket bowled with the score on 1/53. Blake Shepherd bowled 4 overs 0/13 and after the first 15, leschenault were 1/74.
Dallywater opened the batting with Oliver McLean and Monty was first out for 1. McLean was next out for 0 and the score 2/5. Archie Boyle came in and made 9 then Deegan Cummings made 7 and Collie were then 4/19. Blake Shepherd who has continued to improve this season batted well with Cody Irvine before Shepherd was out for 10 and the score 5/38. Marshall Putland was next out for 1 and after 15 overs Collie were 6/40.
Leschenault resumed on 1/74 and Lucas Worlley took the second wicket bowled with the score 2/97, Worlley finished with 4 overs 2/11. Deegan Cummings bowled 2 overs 0/8, Oliver McLean 2 overs 0/5 and Jordan Davenport 2 overs 0/9. Jett Pike was the destroyer for collie with a brilliant spell of 4 overs 5/11. One wicket was caught by Marshall Putland, one caught and bowled and three bowled. Pike's spell took the score from 3/106 to 7/125. Monty Dallywater then took the last wicket bowled to finish with 3.4 overs 1/10 and Leschenault finished 8/136.
After the change of innings Cody Irvine batted well before being retired after making the 35 ball mark. Jett Pike was then out for 2 with the score 7/41, which brought Irvine back out to join Jordan Davenport. The pair batted well for a 34-run partnership before Davenport was out for 14 and Collie all out at 8/75. Irvine finished on a well made 20 not out.
Collie lost the game but should all be very proud of their efforts this season.
