An 18-year-old Collie man has been ordered to pay $800 in fines and more than $1400 in compensation in relation to damage offences.
Seth Chiellini appeared in the Collie Magistrates Court on April 11 and pleaded guilty to two counts of damaging property.
Police porsecutor Sergeant Greg Ward told the court Chiellini had kicked the windows of Fusion Smokehouse and Domino’s on Forrest Street in the early hours of March 10, causing one window to crack and the other to shatter.
Sergeant Ward said as a result of the second incident at Domino’s, Chiellini had suffered a cut to his leg which required medical attention and was spoken to by police at the Collie Hospital.
Chiellini told the court he had no idea why he had done the damage.
Chiellini said he had been drunk at the time of the incidents, but that his actions were not done out of anger.
Magistrate Evan Shackleton told Chiellini he should consider giving up drinking and imposed fines of $300 and $500, along with court costs, for the two offences.
Chiellini was also ordered to pay compensation of $551 to Fusion Smokehouse and $871 to Domino’s for the damage.
