A group of enthusiastic theatre lovers have started up a community theatre group in Collie.
The Collie Theatre Circle was formed as a hub where locals of all ages and abilities could come together to perform productions for Collie audiences.
Group organiser Shannon Wood said when she put a call out online for people who may be interested in forming a theatre group she had over 60 people respond straight away.
“I am amazed at the level of knowledge and experience some of the interested people have, it’s like all of Collie’s theatre devotees are coming out of the woodwork to help make the group happen,” she said.
With 66 members already having joined the Facebook group she said anyone who’s interested could join.
“We are still in the very early stages of forming and are putting the call out to anyone who may be interested in joining to get in touch,” she said.
Having already held their first meeting last Tuesday she said there were a lot of passionate people.
“It was clear from the first meeting that we have some very passionate and creative people who have got involved,” she said.
For anyone interested in joining the group the next meeting will be held at the Collie Public Library on Tuesday, May 8 at 5.30pm.
The group will meet regularly for workshops, social events and upskilling.
