The Shire of West Arthur has received a state government grant to host activities this week for Youth Week WA.
The shire received $1045 to host activities including woodwork demonstrations by the local Men’s Shed, laser tag and a movie and games afternoon.
A total of 58 grants equalling more than $81,000 to help Western Australians aged 12 to 25 to participate in activities run by local governments and community sector organisations were handed out by the state government.
“Youth Week WA is a fantastic opportunity for young people throughout WA to get involved in creating activities that demonstrate their skills, passions and inspirations,” Youth Minister Peter Tinley said.
“The week runs from April 13 to 22 and gives us all the opportunity to learn more about what’s important to young people right across the State.
“At the same time it provides young people in WA with a platform for trying new experiences, building community links and having fun.”
