Building licence delays of up to eight weeks were being experienced in the month of August by Collie builders as a result of increased activity in the building sector. Applications to the Shire of Collie for building permits doubled over the course of a few weeks throughout the month.
Local weight lifter Matt Van Beuningen became Australia’s strongest overall Junior Men’s Lifter and Australian Record Overall Junior Men’s Champion at the annual championships in Melbourne.
