A Collie woman was fined $800, but escaped further punishment, after pleading guilty to speeding recently.
Lisa Helen Bleechmore pleaded guilty to one charge of exceeding the speed limit in the Collie Magistrates Court on Wednesday, May 2.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Barry Phelps told the court Bleechmore had been clocked by a speed gun travelling at 116km/h in an 80km/h zone along Collie-Preston Road in Preston Settlement at 6.43 pm on February 16.
Magistrate Belinda Coleman imposed the fine on Bleechmore but said there was ‘no need’ for any punishment that would affect her licence, due to the fact that she hadn’t been in trouble with the law for ‘a long time’.
