The South West Rail and Heritage Centre in Boyanup is inviting its visitors to come and check out the machines that were first used by settlers.
Referred to as the wheezing workhorses, the machines were used to ease workloads and save time.
The Old Machinery Club and Preston River Old Machinery Group will start up some of the mechanical machines and visitors will be able to see and hear them in action.
The centre’s groups the Boyanup Foundation Blacksmiths, the Capel Men’s Shed and the South West Model Railway Group will also be there on the day.
The railway carriage restorers bringing the 100 year old carriage back to its former beauty will also be there on the day.
South West Rail and Heritage Centre, in Turner St, Boyanup will be open from 10am to 2pm on June 24 and entry is by donation.
It opens on the fourth Sunday of each month to coincide with the Boyanup farmers market.
Light refreshments will be available from the picnic van and there will also be a sausage sizzle.
