Alan Kent produced the best score in wet and windy conditions at Collie Golf Club last Saturday.
He finished with 34 points in the 18-hole stableford event to win the Ash Hollins trophy on a day which did not favour high scoring.
Kent had a point to spare from Steven Ireland, on 33. The leading pair stood out in the small field of 29.
Warren Hann, Ed Riley and Jim Moyses were rewarded for scores of 31, while the match committee extended the voucher payments down to 30, a score returned by John Wray, Ray Alp, Graham Williams and Ron Annandale.
Warren Hann won nearest the pin on No. 4, with John Wray (7) and Danny Cheng (14) winning the others.
Longest putts were sunk by Ron Annandale (6), Ross Davidson (9) and Jay Robinson (18), while Warren Hann spanked the ball further off the tee and onto the fairway than any other player on No. 15.

Club president Regan Old was a runaway winner in the 18-hole par for the Tom Price and Sons trophy on June 2.
Redgie finished on plus three to be well clear of Ian Stewart and Kyle Hulls who took trophies for second and third respectively with their scores of all square.
Stewart and Hulls beat Keith Russell and Mark McCormick on countbacks for the minor placings.
Others to receive vouchers in the field of 54 were Chris Bliss, Colin Giblett and Ray Cooper, on minus one, Dean Rakich, Jim Moyses, Steven Ireland and Gary Old, minus two.
Kim Metcalfe (4), Kevin Ireland (6), Peter Coombs (7), Trevor McCormick (9), Ray Cooper (14), Kyle Hulls (15) and Steven Ireland (18) won the novelties.

Low scoring was evident in the difficult conditions faced by 45 scroungers in the nine-hole event last Thursday.
Steven Ireland made the most of his recent good form to post the best score of the day, 19, one better than the 18 returned by John Wray, Bruce Jackson and Steve Gianola.
A point further back was Colin Naysmith, while Clive Pullan, John Michalak, Alby Hunter and Ray Cooper were rewarded on 16.
Novelties were won by Eric Annandale (4), Graham Williams (6) and Frank Battista (9).

Big Colin “Whippy” Naysmith had the great score of 22 points when winning the scroungers event played on May 31.
He was well clear of old stager Phil Warburton who made light of his 84 years to return 20.
Others to do well were Ron Annandale, Bruce Jackson 19, Keith Godfrey, Brian Banks and Steven Ireland 17.

Last week’s Tuesday leisure day 18-hole stableford was a wash out, but a week earlier a hardy field of 23 was led home by Phil Warburton, scoring 37 points.
Neil Motion and the day’s best vet, John Wray, both scored 36, while together on 34 were Tony Barker-May and Peter Coombs.
