YEAR 6:
The Collie Eagles Year 6 side hosted the Harvey Bulls Green on Saturday at the Collie Recreation ground.
There was a slight threat of showers but the weather held off for some good weather for football.
Will McIllree was our captain for the day. The game started out with a real struggle for the Collie team as we came up against probably our hardest opposition so far this year, it took half of the first quarter till they got a score on the board but kept fighting to end the quarter with 3.1 to Harvey 0.0.
The second quarter Collie got more of the ball but couldn’t convert it to goals and ended the second with 2.7 to Harvey still yet to score.
The third quarter turned out to be the only quarter Collie have lost this year with Harvey really putting some pressure on with their first score and they ended the quarter with 2.3 to Collie 2.1.
Collie turned on the taps in the last with 6.4 to Harvey one goal; the final score was Collie 13.13 (91) – Harvey 3.3 (21).
Goal kickers for Collie were Tom Bell 4, Reid Becker, Toby Hanns 2, Aref Babaie, Alby Bebbington, Thomas Carter, Hayden Fogarty and Will McIllree 1 each.
The awards went to Nina Bercene for an excellent game where she showed no fear, Koby Mears and Thomas Carter who both have been playing consistent all year.
This week we play Bunbury Bulldogs at Hay Park 3.
