Red Cross Collie volunteer Betty Martin was recognised for her 20 years of service to the organisation last week.
Ms Martin was awarded with a badge in front of her co-volunteers at a morning tea held at the store on Wednesday morning.
Ms Martin said she had thoroughly enjoyed her time with Red Cross.
“When I finished work, I was a bit stuck so I saw Red Cross and talked a friend into coming with me,” she said.
“We thought we’d just do it for a little while and 20 years later, I’m still here.
Ms Martin said her favourite part of the job was the social aspect.
“We’ve got such a great group of lovely ladies and we all get on so well together,” she said.
“I really enjoy doing what I do. We have a jolly good time.”
Ms Martin said she had seen the Red Cross store ‘blossom’ over her 20 years there.
“So many people come in – even from out of town – and they always say, ‘Gosh you’ve got a lovely shop here’,” she said.
“And they’re right. It’s a lovely place to volunteer.”
