Recently Maud Taylor represented Western Australia in the Multi-bowl National Championships at Kardinya Bowling Club.
It was a resounding success for Bowls WA.
The event was positive experience for herself and her team mates.
Most of the team never thought they would play sport again and certainly never imagined representing the State.
The event gives a goal, something to be proud of and challenges beyond what they thought they were capable of.
Both mentally and physically, the commitment, comradely and the challenge has bonded the developing team.
The event has been running for the past 30 years in the Eastern States.
The WA team has only competed in the event in the last five years, so are relatively inexperienced squad.
However they are a hardworking and dedicated squad that look forward to the event every year.
Denise McMillan is the inclusive officer for Bowls WA and has worked hard to raise awareness regarding inclusion in the bowling community.
The event was a great success.
