The South West Football League will have a new look next season, with long-serving general manager John Vidos stepping down from his role.
Vidos had served as the general manager of the competition for the last 14 years and through that time, he oversaw a lot of changes to the competition.
During Vidos time in charge, the league expanded to 10 teams with the introduction of the Harvey Bulls in 2009 and the league introduced a six-team women’s competition in 2017, which was further expanded to eight teams this year.
Vidos also oversaw the introduction of a salary cap, with clubs limited to paying players a maximum of $500 per match in accordance with WA Country Football League rules.
Vidos said he was stepping down because he was becoming too old for the job and he wasn’t sure if he would have any involvement with the league going forward.
