One local is firing up her oven, greasing her baking trays and whipping up some extremely sweet treats for this year’s RSPCA Cupcake Day.
Animal lover Mystique Hiller and her dog Bentley will be outside Flowers on Forrest in Collie on Monday, August 20 from 9am until 12pm with a stall packed full of goodies.
For every cupcake sold all the profits will go directly towards helping the abandoned, neglected and surrendered animals around the state that go to the RSPCA.
Living on her Allanson property with her partner Gareth and their three dogs, four cats and nine horses, she said this campaign combines her two favourite passions.
“I have a big passion for animals and baking is my other biggest passion and I know it’s something I can do to help out,” she said.
“Last year I just did a small scale version and I delivered pre-ordered cupcakes, this year I will be setting up a stall for it. I’m hoping to raise $500.”
She said Collie’s Coles and Woolworths also donated $50 each to help her cover costs of ingredients.
