The Collie Art Gallery is calling on expressions of interest for volunteers to help organise the Collie Art Prize happening again in 2020.
The 2018 inaugural Collie Art Prize had hundreds of artist entries from all across Australia and was the richest art prize in regional Australia, with the winner receiving $50,000.
Collie Art Gallery committee member Don Clark said he was taking expressions of interest for volunteers to join the organising sub-committee for the CAP.
“If we got an additional six – eight people to volunteer and help us with a range of things that would make life a lot easier,” he said.
“The Collie Art Prize had a huge impact in terms of putting Collie on the map. The town, which is undergoing a shift in employment and cultural focus from a community dependent on mining and energy generation industry to a more diverse economy has benefited enormously from the 2018 CAP and the Collie Art Gallery.”
