A 25 point loss to Harvey Brunswick Leschenault has seen the Collie Eagles women’s team drop below the Lions to take last position on the ladder with just one round to go.
Both teams came into the game with one win apiece and were determined to claim their second.
The teams couldn’t be separated in the first half as both managed just the single behind.
However the Lions came to life in the second half and kicked three goals while keeping Collie scoreless to claim the 0.1 (1) to 3.8 (26) win.
The colts and reserves didn’t fare much better, with both teams being comfortably defeated by the Lions.
The colts started the day with a 50 point loss against a determined Harvey Brunswick Leschenault team that was playing to keep its season alive.
The Lions marched out to a 25 point lead by quarter time and slowly extended the margin throughout the 7.3 (45) to 15.5 (95) victory.
Sam Salmeri was dominant up forward with four goals, while Joel Stinten and Fraser Hislop also starred.
The reserves followed with a 64 point loss against the ladder-leading Lions.
After a good start for the Eagles, the Lions kicked away in the second term of the 5.3 (38) to 16.6 (102) win.
Brandon Broomhead kicked two goals, while Mason Scally and Darren Nelson were Collie’s best.
All four Eagles teams will take the field for the final time in 2018 when they travel to PC Payne Park to take on Bunbury.
