Early 90th birthday celebrations were held for Lorna Walker last Friday with a surprise stop to her old school, followed by lunch at Jax Diner.
Born in Fremantle, Mrs Walker lived 13 years of her life in Allanson before moving to Collie where she attended high school.
Mrs Walker said it was “amazing” to reach such a milestone.
“On our way over I was surprised with a visit to my old school, Allanson Primary School. It was lovely, they showed me around and I went into the original classroom where I started. It was really special,” she said.
After school Mrs Walker went on to do a commercial course in short hand typing and book keeping before securing a job at a general store located in Throssell Street, Bonsers Manchester House.
At 18 she moved to Perth and by 21 moved to Melbourne, before finding herself in Sydney. There she married Raymond and raised her two sons, Richard and Brett.
She worked at David Jones as a secretary for 30 years and said she applied the skills she learnt at the convent back in Collie all those years earlier.
