Darkan Shed Woodpecker’s Club
The Darkan Shed is well equipped with heavy machinery and portable electric tools but sadly, they are being under used.
A Monday night group is proposed, getting together from 6pm on September 3 to learn some new skills and get the shed active again.
Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
The group will be led by Alan Blencowe who is trained in manual arts, industrial design and construction and will be on hand to keep you safe and informed.
He has enjoyed and accident free classroom for 45 years, so wear covered shoes and bring safety glasses if you have them, along with sketches or images of projects you want to make.
The first meeting will be a safety night and a bit of networking.
The fee is $25 until the end of the year and the annual fee of $50 in December.
Contact Alan on 0420 8010 66 or at alan@vetis.net.au.

Photography Exhibition
Come along and have a look at the Faces of West Arthur exhibition at the West Arthur CRC on September 7.
There will be a representation of West Arthur locals of all ages summing up the West Arthur culture and way of life.
The free exhibition starts at 5.30pm, so come along for some wine, cheese and interesting photos.
Science Week Fun
The West Arthur CRC says thanks to those who got into the spirit of Science Week recently and had a go at the Brain Break quiz and enjoyed a bickie as a reward.
They ran out of bickies so about 25 people participated which was great.
The biscuits were commissioned from the Rarebits on Burrowes Cafe and decorated with a science theme.
